Researchers have found that longer and sustained exposure to obesity is linked to an increased risk of type 2 diabetes. For the findings, published in the journal Diabetologia, the research team from Indiana University in the US, used data from the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health (ALSWH) to identify body mass index (BMI) trajectories over the early adult life course.
